Sightz Productions is a web hosting "boutique". We are not huge, and we
are proud of it. If you are looking for a multinational web hosting conglomerate
factory,
this isn't it. We offer all the advantages of the monster-sized hosts, including
a world-class data center, but add personal service and a genuine concern for
your needs.
Don't be fooled by our size. It does not mean that your site is hosted on
an off-the-shelf system in someone's basement. Our servers are located in the
top data centers in North America. The only difference is that we don't own the
entire facility, just a few boxes within it. We pass this extremely low overhead
on to you in our prices.
We lease servers in the biggest, most-connected

professional technicians and systems administrators.
Because we are not "married" to one particular data center or type of server,
we can shop around for you and place your site on the most appropriate platform,
always for much less than doing it yourself. We know where to go and what
questions to ask to ensure the best web hosting deals for our clients.

Sightz Productions' servers are custom-built
Pentium IV 2.4 GHz
machines with Ultra-ATA drives, 1 Gigabyte of memory and one Terabyte of
Internet bandwidth. They run the latest versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Apache.
Files are fully backed up
daily with weekly offsite backups as well.

What is your connectivity to the Internet?
The Network Operations Center is connected to ten
different Internet backbone providers including AboveNet, Allegiance
Telecom, AT&T, Broadwing, Global Crossing, Level 3, Sprint, Time Warner, Verio,
and UUNet for 15Gbps of redundant bandwidth. The Juniper and Cisco driven
network assure the customer the best uptime and speed possible.
The facility infrastructure has several diverse OC48 SONET fiber rings,
providing the basic connectivity to 10 different Internet access carriers.

Do you have battery backups and generators?
The Network Operations Center is backed up and protected by
six
500KVA Powerware UPS battery backup systems with 90 batteries each (540 total)
for up to 80 minutes of UPS battery backup power. In a very rare case of
an extended utility outage,
the auto-start generators take over for the UPS system and supply all necessary
power for our Network Operations Center.
We can operate for 15 days on generator power without a refuel. Couple these
generators with our three input electrical feeds to two different city grids in
downtown Dallas and our uptime guarantee on power is 100%.

What kind of security does the the Data Center have?
The Data Center is a high security facility.
A preaction dry-pipe sprinkler system with 580 smoke detectors and a VESDA
contaminate system to create a full proof fire prevention system. 23 - 26 ton
Data Aire down flow air conditioners designed to run in complete redundancy for
maximum cooling.
Our Servers utilize FloodGuard™ from NetZentry to mitigate distributed denial
of service and syn flood traffic directed to servers inside our datacenter
facilities. Through the extensive use of actuators and sensors, the security
engineers are able to track traffic patterns and assist in mitigating the
effects of malicious activity.
Our servers are security-audited twice monthly by an external team of
internet security experts and any vulnerabilities found are repaired
immediately.
All essential services are monitored 24/7/365 from two geographically diverse
locations and difficulties result in instant pager messages to our technicians.

What about software upgrades and security bugs?
The facility handles all software upgrades/patches on the
shared hosting servers. We fully follow all trends in the industry, and monitor
all support/bug announcement groups. If a new bug or security vulnerability is
found, The facility immediately upgrades our systems. The facility auto-updates
the Linux systems every night from security patch websites. As new software is
released, including new versions of operating systems, The facility evaluates
the new software. If the software's new version does not have any security
issues, or bug problems, the upgrade is implemented.
One of our clients recently switched to our services
because his sites at another very large hosting company were hacked because of
security loopholes that had been known in the industry for 18 months but hadn't
been repaired. If that ever happens here we will close up shop and take up
knitting.
